Minor Says SP Cop Raped Her

Another police officer is tonight accused of sexually assaulting a minor.  Twenty-six-year-old Kyle Hubert Serrano, an officer attached to San Pedro Police, appeared unrepresented before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser earlier today.  PC Serrano was arraigned on three counts of sexual assault upon a thirteen-year-old girl on the island.  The charges stem from at least three incidents between November thirtieth and December third, during which the officer allegedly engaged in lewd conduct with the teenager.  She reported that on November twenty-seventh, Serrano sucked her breasts.  On another occasion, three days later, the police constable again repeated the act, before rubbing his genitals on her body during a third encounter.  In court, Serrano pleaded not guilty to the charges.  While bail could have been granted for the charges, the court prosecutor objected to bail on the basis that since the accuser is a minor there is a strong possibility that Serrano may try to interfere with her.  He was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until January twenty-sixth, 2016.
