Fonseca Says P.U.P. Will Emerge Stronger from Convention

Francis Fonseca

Many political observers believe that this is the worst of times for the battered grand ole Party which hasn’t won an election since 2003. It’s been said that no matter who wins, the party is in danger of disintegration. But Fonseca says that’s not going to happen. He believes that contrary to that school of thought, no matter who becomes leader the party will be strong, vibrant and ready to take on the U.D.P.

Francis Fonseca, Candidate for P.U.P. Leader

“I think any internal battle, any internal skirmish as you describe it is a little painful because you are fighting within your family, so that is always difficult, it is always challenging. I certainly believe that the process we are engaged in now leading to the election of a new Party Leader on January thirty-first I believe is a healthy one. Yes it is difficult and challenging and it often gets personal but I think at the end of the day it is a healthy exercise. I think it will be a positive exercise for the Party and I believe very firmly based on my discussions with Party supporters and members across the country that we will emerge out of that convention a more united Party, a stronger Party, a more focused party. I think whoever emerges as the leader of the party will have a mandate for unity, a mandate for unity, a clear demand from our Party supporters and members for zero tolerance of any disunity in the Party – not in a strong-armed way, but a clear mandate from the delegates of the party, the members of the Party to say to anyone who is not prepared to join the conversation, to sit around the table and work with the Party Leader – not to agree on everything but to work with the leadership of the Party that we will no longer have tolerance for that kind of approach and attitude. So I think as I said it is a healthy exercise and I think we will emerge from it stronger and more united.”

Sorry , he won his division had a tantrum about the out come of the election and resigned, now he wants back in. He betrayed the voters that put him there. I for one wouldn’t put him back I. That leadership position again. Who would trust him again. Just my opinion. It’s his ego.
