A Firearm Stolen During Home Invasion in Burrell Boom is Recovered

On December third, 2015, eight men stormed the Burrell Boom home of Lebanese Consul General Sarkis Abou-Nehra. He and his wife were not in the country, but the men stayed the night, cleaning out the house of money, valuables and electronic appliances. The men also brutally beat the caretaker while at least one of them raped his wife. The investigation has been intensive, and at last count nineteen persons have been arrested – seven for the Aggravated Burglary, one man, Tyrone Meighan, additionally for Rape, and twelve persons for Handling Stolen Goods. The men also made off with an assortment of guns – six to be exact – owned by the Lebanese diplomat. Police have recovered much of the stolen bounty, but the guns have been a real concern. Now there are five still missing. Ladyville Police reported today that they have recovered a nine millimetre Browning pistol stolen in the home invasion. The weapon was discovered in an open lot on Ordonez Avenue in Belize City. Actually the discovery was made on January seventh, more than a week ago, but it took some time to make the connection between the found property and the home invasion.
