Four busted for coke in Cayo
In crime news, four people have been arrested on drug charges in the Cayo District. The Anti Drug Unit, acting on information received, raided a house in Santa Elena town on Tuesday afternoon. The search turned up just under three pounds of cocaine. Twenty-year-old Adrian August, twenty-five year old Fernando Montero and twenty-six year old Marjorie Marfield who were at the house at the time of the search were taken into custody. Further investigations later led to the arrest of thirty-two year old Albert Myvette. All four have been charged for the crime of drug trafficking and have been remanded to Hattieville Prison until their next court appearance just before Christmas. As explained to News 5 by San Ignacio police, magistrates no longer have the discretion to offer bail to persons charged with drug offences if the amount of the substance exceeds one kilo.
