Veteran public officer retires
With over thirty years of government service, the last eighteen as head of the Geology and Petroleum Department, Evadney Wade has built a reputation as a hard working and straight shooting public officer. Alas, on January twenty-sixth, she turns fifty-five and on that day she will retire from her post. A release from the Press Office in Belmopan expresses its appreciation for her work and wishes Ms. Wade the best for the future. We would like to echo those sentiments and note that although the release states that she went on pre-retirement leave as of November fifteenth, Wade was in her office today and told News 5 that she had never applied for the time off. “I’ll be at my desk on Monday”, she said, adding that she still has a few more projects to complete before she cleans out her desk.
