Accused Rapist Daniel Rios Remains in Custody

Tonight, twenty-seven year old Daniel Rios, who is being accused of raping a nine year old child remains in custody at the Belize Central Prison. A preliminary inquiry has determined that his case will be tried at the Supreme Court.  Rios is accused of committing the heinous on April twenty-eighth 2015.  The P.I. took place before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith and Rios’ attorney Richard “Dickie” Bradley chose not to challenge the police evidence so his case will be heard in the April session.  Prosecutor in the case, Corporal Christopher Smith is relying on statements from nine persons including the minor and her mother. Other evidence includes the report from a doctor’s examination, statements from several police witnesses along with an envelope which contained two pictures of the alleged crime scene.
