?The public has been very responsive to our stamps. Most people do know that Belize release the most beautiful stamps in the world; it?s known for having the most beautiful stamps in the world. Presently we are trying to get the students to be more actively involved. We have ongoing educational programme in collaboration with Museum of Belize.?
?The new stamp issue is the Woolly Opossum and this stamp issue is known as an omnibus issue. In other words it?s going to be released by the other Commonwealth countries through the agent–for our agent it?s Crown Agent Stamp Bureau.?
The choice of the Woolly Opossum was made by the World Wildlife Fund, which paid for the printing of the stamp issue, both here and in other countries. The WWF had previously sponsored an issue on howler monkeys. The public is invited to stop by the Museum of Belize and view the large stamp display that shows a number of recent issues.
