Two soldiers charged in theft of M-16
And in a final crime story, two corporals in the Belize Defence Force have been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of an M-16 rifle and ammunition. Thirty-seven year old Elroy Hemmons and thirty-three year old Hansel Petillo were taken in after the search of a house in the West Landivar area of Belize City turned up the high powered weapon, which belonged to the BDF, and three hundred and thirty-nine rounds of assorted ammunition. The soldiers have been charged with theft and handling stolen property.
