Accident victim dies after refusing treatment
A cyclist fatally injured in a road accident may have died due to his own refusal of medical treatment. Forty-seven year old Estelito Catch of Xaibe Village in Corozal was riding his bike through the intersection of Seventh Avenue and the San Andres Road on Friday afternoon when he was knocked down by a taxi. Catch, suffering from head injuries, was rushed to the Corozal Hospital but refused treatment and was released to the custody of his daughter. The injured man returned to the hospital later that night but it was apparently too late. He died around one thirty the following morning. Taxi driver Alfred Davis told police that Catch suddenly rode in front of his vehicle in an attempt to cross the road and he could not avoid hitting him.
