Family of Accident Victim Speaks Out

Felicia Robinson

Jason Robinson, a resident of Hattieville, will be laid to rest on Wednesday.  He perished at the start of the weekend after being ran over by a passenger bus.  On Friday night, Robinson was riding a bicycle along the George Price Highway when he was hit from behind by a Shaw’s Bus.  During the accident he received multiple injuries to various parts of the body.  When his family responded to the scene however, the chef had already been removed from under the vehicle.  That’s what his sister contends and this morning, she stopped by our office to plea for public assistance in helping the police with their investigation.

Felicia Robinson, Sister of Deceased

“What I would like to get to is the bottom, the truth.  I want the driver to come out and tell the truth about what really happened.  This accident, yes it hit home, it hit our hearts and there is no way that this bus, this bicycle could have been under this bus and my brother was not there.  His pants was left on his bicycle, so at some point in time he had to have been dragged from underneath this bus and moved from underneath this bus.  We really are asking the public for answers.  We’re asking the conductor and the driver for answers.”

“A post mortem examination has since been conducted on your brother’s body.  What are the results indicating?”

Felicia Robinson

“The results are indicating that he died from head trauma and body injuries.  He was [broken] up, paralyzed from the waist down.  His two lungs were crushed  and he was bleeding through his kidneys.  He had head trauma, his shoulders, one of his shoulders was broken, so I believe, in my view, that he was dragged by this bus and he was under this bus and he was moved from there.”

Isani Cayetano

“Are they arguing that this is not so, as to why you’re taking this strong position that this is exactly what happened?”

Felicia Robinson

“Yes they are arguing because when the police went to the scene he was not under the bus, only the bike and his pants were under the bus.  He was in boxers alone, so in my view he was moved.”

“Now there is a police report, there is a post mortem result.  What is the family now intending to do, going forward, to get these answers?”

Felicia Robinson

“Well, as far as we can go we will be going there.”

A notice of intended prosecution has since been served on Franco Ardinette, driver of the Shaw’s Bus.
