Publics Officers and Teachers to Receive Third Pay Raise
Saldivar, who publicly announced today that he intends to contest for the vacant post of first deputy leader in the U.D.P., boasted that if Briceño’s statistics and assertions are valid, the U.D.P. would never have won an unprecedented third term. He maintained that the people of Belize are still in a very loving, long-term relationship with the U.D.P.
John Saldivar, Area Representative, Belmopan
“I don’t know where the Leader of the Opposition studied his economics. Contrary to what he has been saying, our spending power has been protected by the United Democratic Party. Add to that Mister Speaker the fact that public officer will receive their third consecutive raise of pay and thanks Mister Leader of the Opposition for supporting it. Mister Speaker, I am the area representative for Belmopan. Belmopan is the home of thousand of public officers and teachers. Mister Speaker, I stand here proud to know that the people I represent—the public officers and teachers who voted for me in great numbers, especially in Belmopan Central—will be receiving another raise of pay. Also Mister Speaker, our retired public officers and teachers who will be benefiting from this raise of pay will also be benefiting—along with the other retired workers in this country—from an increase in Social Security pensions. This, Mister Speaker, is absolutely amazing. I love my Prime Minister and I love my U.D.P. Government.”
