Police Officers Out on the Streets Meeting Faber’s Road Residents

Chester Williams

Eastern Division South police officers were back on the beat today in the south side of Belize City for its weekly meet and greet with residents. Faber’s Road Extension has been relatively crime free, and the police believe that their presence in the area has contributed to the peace.

ACP Chester Williams, Regional Commander, Eastern Division South

“The last time we came in the area there were a few complaints about the police presence so since then, we have put in place additional mobile motorcycle patrols in the area to be able to address the concerns of people in the area. Now that we are back, we are hearing from the people that they are now satisfied with the police presence in the area and we hope that we can continue our presence in this area to keep it as calm as possible or even better. One of the compliments that we have gotten is that the crime rate is extremely low. So we want to do our best to keep it that way. We have done a lot of work in the Jane Usher Boulevard area as well and all these works are being done in an effort to be able to address the crime situation, making the public feel more safe in their homes as well as to try and reach out to some of those persons who have been giving trouble and we believe that they want to make that change.”
