2 Belize City Men Arraigned of Robbery of Gas Station in Scotland Half Moon

Six days after the robbery of Valley Supplies Gas Station, in Scotland Half Moon in the Belize District, an adult and a minor are facing charges. The armed robbery occurred on the afternoon of March twenty-third 2016. The business owner and two patrons were robbed of cash and valuables.   This morning before Magistrate Deborah Rogers, two of the alleged robbers, twenty-two-year old Trevor McFoy, an adult student and a seventeen year old high school student of Belize City were read several charges.   The duo was jointly charged with three counts of robbery upon businessman Benjamin Schrock and customers, Myron Frost and Herwin Theus.  Allegations are that they stole Schrock’s wallet containing eight hundred dollars in cash and an Iphone cell phone as well as an assortment of items.  McFoy was additionally charged with keeping an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The pair pleaded not guilty to all charges.  McFoy will be seeking bail at the Supreme Court.  McFoy complained to the court that he was badly beaten so the magistrate ordered that they be taken to the hospital and examined. “But Mister McFoy, who is the son of James McFoy, the union leader, informed the magistrate that in fact the Ladyville police had administered a horrific beating on him. Mister Staine also told the Magistrate that he too was beaten by the Ladyville police and beaten again inside the Ladyville police station. McFoy was also pepper-sprayed in his eyes. When they were transferred from the Ladyville police station to the Queen Street Police Station, officers on seeing the condition and a JP also by chance seeing insisted that they be taken to the hospital for proper medical examination. Mister McFoy told the magistrate this morning that in fact the officer, whose name is on the charge sheet refused to give him his copy of the medical form…likewise with the minor Staine whose parent was in the court this morning and that he had never been given his medication. A police officer from Queen Street called to say they need to administer him with his medication; no medication had never been sent to the Queen Street Police Station from Wednesday night of last week. This young man is going to complete sixth form later this year, right here in June. In fact one of his assignments is to come and cover a case to see how the justice system operates in the country. His father tells him well the assignment will have to be changed to the injustice system because he is strenuously denying having anything to do with that robbery.”
Magistrate Rogers granted bail to the minor in the sum of three thousand dollars but told his father that the minor has to be home by six in the evening and has to report to the police station three times a week.
