Bz. City woman shot; target or bystander?

Tonight a twenty-one year old Belize City woman is hospitalised after she was shot in front of her home. Kareema Robinson told News 5 that around eleven thirty last night, she was about to enter her yard on Morning Glory Street when a bullet, apparently not intended for her, found its mark in her right leg.

?After I get shot I just get a black out. I noh see dah who do it. But I mi strong enough fuh manage fu walk ina the yard. Then I feel ah get shot and mi foot start to shake. When I shake, I collapse ina wah man hand–my mother-in-law–said it was a policeman, I am not sure. My father-in-law bring mi dah the hospital.?

?I mi just come, I come off the bike to push the bike ina the yard. I mi di come from work. Lot of people mi deh around there because them mi have wake round there last night. So it?s the noise no make I see or hear nothing.?

?Well it gone just couple inches from mi bone, or else it could have crippled me. But thank God it no gone to my bone, right now its still in the flesh.?

Robinson, who remains in stable condition, is expected to undergo surgery to try to remove the bullet, which is still lodged in her leg. Up to news time tonight, police had not made any arrests in this case.
