It is one month into the hurricane season and the Belize City branch of the National Emergency Management Organization is preparing residents for any eventuality. “We’ll be issuing the Belize NEMO Hurricane Preparedness Bulletins. These will be dropped off at the various polyclinics, health centres around the city, the various denominations in terms of the religious backgrounds and so forth. We’ll drop some off at the head offices so that they can distribute. Also, to some of the business houses that people traffic and we try to do some street distribution in key areas that are deemed to be most vulnerable in the city. For further information, persons want additional information, they can log on at nemo.org.bz for any additional information and updates at the national website for NEMO.”
