Pedestrian killed in N. Hwy knockdown
An accident on the Northern Highway has claimed the life of a Ladyville man. According to police reports, around six twenty on Monday evening, sixty-nine year old Eulogio Perez was crossing the highway between miles nine and ten when he was hit by an oncoming SUV travelling to Belize City. The driver, thirty-four year old Susan Moir, told officers at the scene that she saw Perez running in front of her and tried to avoid him but to no avail. The victim was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital with severe head and body injuries and died shortly after arrival. Moir has since been charged manslaughter by negligence, driving without due care and attention and causing death by careless conduct.
