Queen Square market to be temporarily relocated
The Queen’s Square market in the city is the place where most people pick up their weekly supply of fresh meats, fruits and vegetables. And the Saturday morning bustle on West Collet Canal is a regular scene and a worthy experience. But the Belize City Council says it will interrupt that experience, at least for a while, as it relocates the market into the Pound Yard compound. This is to conduct work on the market facility. So as of Wednesday, July ninth, vendors and buyers will have to meet a few hundred yards away from the market location to trade off goods and cash.
