Primary School Table Tennis Competition Held in Belize City

Student athletes from primary schools across Belize City participated in a table tennis tournament at the Belize Elementary School today.  The event was organized by the Belize Table Tennis Association and is the culmination of several weeks of demanding training for up and coming ping pong talent.  When the last ball was served St. Joseph Primary School emerged victorious.  News Five spoke with Nathan Savery and Samron Pott following the competition.

“It’s just a primary school tournament for ping pong or also know as table tennis and all schools come out and they do the tournament to win the prize, there is 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th   they are trying to win the trophies for their schools.”

“I believe this is an exciting tournament and a good tournament to make all junior players come out and have fun. I am the team captain, well I believe I was chosen because I am more experienced, I have been practicing for long ad I believe I will do excellent in this tournament.

“We are doing really good, we have a lot of participants so we have a good chance.”
