Police Investigate Accident in the City
Up to news time, statements were being recorded by the police on an accident that occurred just before three this afternoon in Belize City. A motorcyclist was knocked down at the corner of Douglas Jones and North Front Streets on north side Belize City. Both the cyclist and a woman in a white SUV were traveling in opposite direction and turning on to North Front Street, the vehicle collided into the motorcycle. The impact sent the cyclist to the pavement. Ambulance and police were on the scene shortly after and the cyclist was rushed to the K.H.M.H. for medical attention. A woman standing nearby witnessed the ordeal and told News Five about what happened.

“I was talking to my friend and I wasn’t paying no attention to this side where the incident happened; I was looking that way. And all that I heard is a hard bang and I see the cycle on the ground and the man on the side of the drug store. That’s all. I didn’t see anything else; I only heard the loud bang, I didn’t see anything.”
“What direction was the man on the cycle coming from?”

“From this way; up this way, from up the bridge.”
“And the vehicle was coming from that way by Quality Chicken coming this way?”

“No it was coming from that way, from down Douglas Jones Street and turning on to North Front Street.”

“I only see the man’s side of his forehead was bleeding.”

“No he wasn’t talking. Well for just a little while and then he started to talk to someone there; I don’t know who he was talking to but he was talking to someone there.”
