So Is the United Democratic Party a House Divided?
Finnegan says that the process of healing within the rank and file of the U.D.P. is underway and that reconciliation among the Saldivar and Faber factions began this morning.

“Mister Finnegan…is the United Democratic Party at this moment a house divided, as a result of what has taken place?”
Michael Finnegan, Area Representative, Mesopotamia
“I said to you a while ago, because of the election there is need for the healing of wounds and I guarantee you that the party will heal those wounds shortly and the party will forge ahead and will be ready to contest the general elections, thank God, which is more than, almost four and a half years away. So all that is in the favor of the United Democratic Party.”
Isani Cayetano
“Now finally, as an elder statesman within the party, do you see Mister Faber regaining the support of those who may have been behind John Saldivar moving forward? In order for the party to remain viable it has to have a united front. Do you see Patrick Faber regaining the support of others who were in favor of John Saldivar?”
Michael Finnegan
“That process started this morning, or I should say started immediately after the convention and it is incumbent upon all of them to make sure that there is a United Democratic Party. When the United Democratic Party is united the people benefit and the leadership receives its enrichment along with the people in the same process. When I talk about the enrichment I am not talking about monetary enrichment, I am talking about enrichment from the heart, enrichment from the soul, enrichment from the body knowing that you are producing and you are delivering the goods and services to the people of Belize.”
