Audubon Society Promotes Reusable Bags
The Belize Audubon Society is also joining in the efforts to keep the environment safe and clean. The N.G.O. is also making available reusable bags to the public. The first thirty persons will get the bag free of cost and thereafter a small fee will be charged for the bags.

“Their initiative, the Better Bag Initiative, is one that compliments one that we have been running for several years now. Since 2009, we started our greening initiative and it was aimed at promoting a green lifestyle among Belizeans. And one of the products from that program was our green bag and the idea was to get Belizeans to start carrying your own reusable bags to the supermarket instead of accumulating a lot of plastic bags. We know that solid waste management is a huge problem in our country and local action, local initiatives like this is important.”
