Gunman Opens Fire on Laura Dunn Street, Deshawn Young is Critically Injured

Twenty-five-year-old Deshawn Young remains hospitalized in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after being shot multiple times on Thursday night.  According to residents, an unidentified male person was seen running along Laura Dunn Street sometime around nine-thirty, shortly before a volley of approximately four shots rang out.  The person was later identified as Young, a resident of Electric Avenue.  He had been shot in the chest, neck and shoulder.  When police responded to the scene of the shooting near Antelope Street Extension, they happened upon Young lying on the street bleeding profusely from his injuries.  A police investigation into the latest incident has been launched, however, a motive for the shooting is yet to be determined.
