Local artist release new CD

Story Picture
He is a staple on the Belizean music scene who also has some pretty big shoes to fill. Ras Indio has a new CD coming on the market and he stopped by our studios to talk about it.

David Obi 111 a.k.a. Ras Indio

“Very hot CD “Free Up My Nation” was the first C.D. and that was a bold statement so what I am doing now is asking the youths to all unite together and help me push up this one fire.”

“Right now music is changing right–we are making an evolution and it?s not about forgetting the past cause I haven?t forgotten the past. I will definitely incorporate a lot of the past elements like my father?s music in my music soon when I get the time to sit down in the studio and create, but in the mean time to just keep on the streets and to keep the music flowing, we use this either hip hop or reggae music which is coming in from Jamaica or America which is good right, but it slows down the creativity.”

“Push Up The Fire” will officially be released on Sunday during an event at the B.T.L. Park to pay tribute to King Selassie.

David Obi III a.k.a Ras Indio

“We want everybody to come out and support all the local artists. I know you hear about it; its Indigenous productions, my productions along with Youth Uprising, Sons of Negus launching and we are having one big event at the B.T.L. Park; it?s King Selassie?s birthday–pay tribute and plus the release of my album launching.”

On Monday Push Up the Fire will be available at all leading record stores.
