Earlier this year more than one thousand people reportedly died In Haiti and the Dominican Republic after their houses were swept away by floods. This morning, the Belize City Council and the Belize Red Cross continued with their appeal to raise funds to help the storm victims from both countries. The strategy is based on the proverb “one one full basket”.
Michelle Smith, Public Relations Officer, Belize City Council
?The aim is ten thousand dollars. So far we have sent out letters to different businesses asking them to cooperate with this drive. So far the response is positive, but its not as good as we expected. It is a little bit slow, but every bit counts.?
The dollar drive will continue for one more week, so you still have time to make your donation.
