One charged in Eve St. shooting
While cops in the north pursue a killer or killers, their counterparts in Belize City are trying to get a straight story from a group of youths involved in a shooting incident on Eve Street. Police responded to a call about a domestic dispute around one o’clock this morning, but when they showed up, they noticed an eighteen year old man, identified as Eber Josue Lopez, running behind a house with a handgun. Also found at the scene were twenty one year old Allan Perdomo, twenty-year-old Jose Perez and a sixteen-year-old boy, all suffering from gunshot wounds. While the three victims claim to have been robbed and shot, the police say they do not believe their story. A source close to the investigation says the shooting may have been the result of a dispute among the group of friends. While the investigation continues, police have arrested and charged Lopez with the crime of keeping unlicensed firearm and ammunition. He was found in possession of a twenty-two Ruger brand pistol and two live rounds.
