Another Mennonite house reaches destination
At one time or another most of us have witnessed the startling sight of a prefabricated building–commonly called a “Mennonite house”–coming down the highway on a truck. Yesterday our camera caught one such house, headed to the Belize City Municipal Airstrip, which was actually wider than the street. Built in Spanish Lookout by Linda Vista Lumber, the building will become the office of the Belize Airports Authority. Along the way, the truck driver had to use a chainsaw to trim some trees, but told News 5 that his biggest obstacle was parked cars. A late report indicates that in removing the house from the truck a worker was injured.
