Belize and Taiwan business people meet

A team of business experts from the Republic of China on Taiwan today met with local business people in Belize City. The half-day seminar dealt with various aspects of trade cooperation between Belize and Taiwan. According to Counsellor Yin-Yih Lee, the participants shared views on how to maximize mutual benefits from local products by applying simple value adding techniques.

I talk to them mainly on how to make good use of the locomotive industry, which is the tourism industry in this country. It brings a median of cruise visitors from outside and it’s a great opportunity for local businesses to generate more profits through some of the innovative products from Taiwan or the rest of the world.”

“Basically Belize is an agriculture country and there are a lot of abundant aqua and agro products, which is very precious because most of them are organic. Belizean businessmen need to make good use of this using the made in Taiwan machinery and technology to convert those primary commodities to a value added form of modern products.”

Today’s seminar had the participation of close to fifty local and Taiwanese business people. It was organized jointly by BELTRAIDE and the Taiwanese Embassy in Belize.
