Another Mennonite child killed in yard accident
Another Mennonite child has died in a traffic mishap caused by a family member. One-year-old Giana Kornelson was killed on Thursday when her aunt, twenty-year-old Anita Loewen, ran the child over with her Ford F-150 pickup while driving in the family’s yard in Spanish Lookout. Police are investigating.
In a similar incident last weekend in Shipyard, thirty-three year old Peter Friesen was charged with manslaughter by negligence, driving without due care and attention, and causing death by careless conduct. Friesen ran over his one-year-old son Abraham with his tractor.
