King of Pop Michael Jackson dead at 50
We begin this newscast with the shocking death of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, that occurred this afternoon. Reports that the pop icon had died stunned fans across the world. The fifty year old performer was rushed to a Los Angeles, California hospital after suffering cardiac arrest. Fire officials said he was not breathing when emergency workers arrived at his home in mid-afternoon. He was later reported to be in a coma at U.C.L.A. Medical Center. During his career he has sold over seven hundred and fifty million albums worldwide and Guinness World Records reports him to be the “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time” which includes thirteen Grammy Awards and thirteen number one singles in his solo career. He will be remembered as a multi-platinum artist and entertainer for singles such as Thriller, Beat It, Billie Jean, and Black and White. His signature one gloved hand and moonwalk are iconic of the legend who was the seventh child of Joseph Walter and Katherine Esther. Jackson showed musical talent from early in life and went on to become a member of the Jackson Five, a family singing group—before going solo. From July thirteenth, 2009 to March 6, 2010, Jackson was scheduled to perform at fifty sell out concerts to over one million people in London. And while memories of the Pop King will live on forever in the hearts of his fans, there was well-known actress of Charlie’s Angel, Farrah Fawcett, also died earlier today after battling with cancer. Fawcett died at age sixty-two.
