Progressive Party Wants “Higher Standard” Applied in Patrick Faber Case
Police continue their investigations into how Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber’s Toyota Prado ended up in the Caribbean Sea near Marine Parade on Sunday night. The Minister says it was stolen from its parking place on the George Price Highway, but many are sceptical to say the least. Today, the Belize Progressive Party’s chairman, Paco Smith, called for a thorough investigation but also seemed to cast aspersions at Faber:

“We would like to comment on the continuing downward spiral of elected officials and issues of misconduct. I believe that the other day there was a situation with the Deputy Prime Minister’s vehicle. I shall not speculate with regard to the particulars of it; but on such issues such as that, we will simply say that with regard to elected officials, they must be held to a higher level of accountability. So we call on the Prime Minister, also the authorities, the Police, to ensure that a thorough investigation is done with regard to that. And in fact if another vehicle is purchased, where do you think that money is going to come from? It’s going to come from taxpayer’s dollars.”

The whole damn GOB is inept and corrupt! Why don’t we just hire a property management company to run our country? Sound far fetched? Not really. Hell, there are housing projects in the U.S. that are bigger than Belize. Private industry can do a much better job than politicians, they can get the job done right, and make a profit doing it . . . which would mean lower taxes to us. Think about it.
