Four arrested for murder, sexual offences

In Belize City police have made an arrest in connection with a murder that took place earlier this year on Central American Boulevard. Nineteen year old Maurice Felix has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Levi Slusher which occurred in the early morning of January third.

While cops in the City caught up with an alleged criminal, in Orange Walk they had the unpleasant task of cuffing one of their own. Constable Leslie Logan Junior was arrested and charged after a mother visited the Orange Walk police station to report that Logan has been having sex with her fifteen year old daughter. Logan reportedly met the teenager at a party on Saturday and although she is reported to have willingly engaged in sexual relations with the officer, the legal age of consent for sex is sixteen years old. Logan has been charged with unlawful carnal knowledge and has appeared in court where he was granted bail. He is to reappear in court on June Second.

And in Dangriga, two men have been arrested and charged with rape. Darren Chiu and Basil Sabal, both of Dangriga are accused of raping the nineteen year old woman, who had accepted a ride from the men.
