Carnival 2016: The Mas Reaches Climax
Months of preparation gave away to the Carnival Road March 2016 this past Saturday in Belize City. The parade of the bands got off to somewhat of a slow start on Caesar Ridge Road as the rain came down with a vengeance. Still yet, thousands lined the route to view the sights and sounds and the dazzling costumes. And even though tragedy struck on the eve of the parade, the merriment could not be contained in the biggest street party. Here’s a recap.

In the senior division, there was a repeat of last year’s results. First place went to Soca Moca with four hundred and sixty-five points. Mother Nature Creations won second with four hundred and fifty-four points and Titans Mas Band took third with four hundred and thirty-two points. In the junior category: Jump Street Posse captured the title for a third year in a row with four hundred and thirty-six points. Second place went to Collet Royal Revelers and Sunshine Masqueraders won third place with three hundred and x-one points.
