Fisherman’s body recovered near Caye Chapel
The body of a man feared drowned over the weekend has been recovered. Around two on Tuesday afternoon, a search team including police and relatives of nineteen year old Andrew Castro came upon the young man’s corpse floating in the water just off Caye Chapel. Castro, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time of his death, is believed to have fallen overboard from his skiff on Sunday night after the vessel crashed into an object offshore. Although the Castro family believes that their son’s death was no accident, the police say they have no evidence to suspect foul play. Castro was returning from Caye Caulker to Belize City with three friends when the incident occurred.
