Gringo: The Dangerous Life of John McAfee aired on Saturday night. The Showtime documentary chronicles the activities of software tech John McAfee while he lived in Belize. The sensational documentary was produced by award winning filmmaker Nanette Burnstein. It includes interviews with local politicians, journalists, family and friends of Gregory Faull, along with those closest to McAfee—his security guards, girlfriends, driver, caretaker and the alleged hit man, who was paid five thousand dollars to kill Faull. Those compelling interviews and statements connect the dots and provide a timeline leading up to the murder of Faull and a second murder connected to McAfee—that of David Middleton, which took place in Carmelita, Orange Walk. McAfee refused an interview, but repeatedly emailed Nanette. Gringo showed anything but a security software mogul. It uncovered allegations of rape, two murders, abuse of power and bizarre sex tales leading back to McAfee. But it’s the unsolved murder of Gregory Faull that opened up the doings of McAfee.

“What guy’s account? Eddie Mac. So I went there the Friday and put the money in his account and went back home.”

“Sunday morning, the night after the murder, around Eddie called probably around 3:30-4:00 called and said come and pick me up. I asked where are you. He said I am around by the shop. I was looking by the roadside but didn’t see him but when I approached Mata Grande shop. I saw him coming out of the bushes around 600 feet from Greg’s house.”

“Because that is weird. So, you’re trying to tell me that he paid me five thousand dollars to go…no, man, that’s crazy.”

“No?”

“No.”

“So, you didn’t get wired five thousand dollars into your account?”
Eddie “Mac-10” McKoy
“No. Never.”

“So some people said they saw you that night and you went to John’s house.”
Eddie “Mac-10” McKoy
“No. Never. Impossible. Maybe my twin, but I don’t have a twin any way.”

“So, you were not hired by John to kill McAfee?”
Eddie “Mac-10” McKoy
“No. Never.”
Nanette Burnstein
“And if you were, would you tell me?”
Eddie “Mac-10” McKoy
“No. I am not crazy to tell someone I killed someone. That’s ridiculous you know. But I was never paid by John to kill anyone.”

“So I would want to understand want to know why anyone would say this?”

“I want to know right now too. Who gave you that information?”

“I can’t tell you. So, do you have an alibi?”

“I don’t need an alibi. I was at home. My sister was marrying.”

“I wanted to check out Eddie’s alibi, but it felt way too dangerous.”
Gringo airs tonight on this station following the news package at eight p.m.
Showtime and McAfee are surely making much money out of this documentary. It is a tag-team effort. They surely know how to take people for fools and make wealth. I tip my hat off to them.
