3 teenagers detained for home invasion in Trial Farm

On Thursday night in Trial Farm Village in Orange walk, twenty-eight year old Salvadoran Kenny Carranza and her neighbors and a few children were the victims of a brazen burglary. Police reported that at around six-thirty p.m., the group was at Carranza’s home on Turtle Street when three male persons on a scooter and bicycle arrived at her home. The men were wearing rags over their faces and one was armed with a nine millimeter pistol while the others had knives. They proceeded to rob Carranza and her neighbors of their cell phones, jewelry and cash. As if that weren’t scary enough, one of the men hit Carranza’s neighbor on his head with the handgun. The group was then placed in a room, while the burglars escaped. Police have since detained a nineteen-year-old, a fifteen-year-old and a sixteen-year-old all of Otro Benque Street, Orange Walk Town pending investigation.
