7 compete in Miss S.C.A. pageant…
That Belizean cultural staple known as the beauty pageant will be in full flower this weekend as two Belize City educational institutions will be showing off to the public. On Friday, the young ladies of Saint Catherine Academy invite you to support an event that they hope will raise money needed to aid the advancement of the all girls institution. News 5 caught up with the seven contestants in the Miss S.C.A. pageant and it’s coordinators Becky Ramirez and Michelle Murray.
Michelle Murray, Coordinator, Miss S.C.A.
“The student council has had the pageant on their agenda for the school year. The main reason is to raise funds for the development of our school. And also, the girls will be getting an opportunity to show their talents and skills to the school and the general public.”
“We don’t have a target for this particular fundraiser, but we just put in A.C. in our E.P.D. and M Lab which is basically our computer lab and whatever other needs we see around the school we plan to invest the funds therein.”
Becky Ramirez, Coordinator, Miss S.C.A.
“On Friday night we’ll be having an introduction, a question and answer session, cultural session and sportswear and the girls will be showing their talent of course”
The contest gets underway at the Holy Redeemer Parish Hall at seven on Friday night. Tickets can be bought from any S.C.A. student or at the school at five dollars for adults and three dollars for children.
