Teachers Thank Catholic Bishop for Support
As the situation continues to develop, the B.N.T.U. wrote to the Bishop Dorrick Wright of the Roman Catholic Church. In a release issued today, the Council of Management and Membership of the B.N.T.U. say that they are thankful for the Catholic Church and Bishop’s supports given to them in their fight for good governance, accountability and transparency from the Government. The release goes on to say, “We express our deepest disappointment with the disrespect shown to you and your office by Sister Barbara, General Manager of the Catholic Public Schools, and hereby reiterate our support for you as the Leader of the Catholic Church in Belize.” The release ends with a request from the B.N.T.U. asking for a meeting with the Bishop to discuss that matter plus others including the allegations of the attempted removal of the Bishop.
