Police Working on Dorian Pakeman File; Investigate Evidence Tampering

Dorian Pakeman

Who excluded the Dorian Pakeman cocaine positive forensic lab test from the file that went to the D.P.P.? This is in connection with the fatal traffic accident in which the Director of Government Press Office Pakeman was driving a vehicle that knocked down and killed Dean Dawson in March earlier this year. It was later revealed that Pakeman had tested positive for cocaine, but that report was never sent in the file over to the D.P.P.  Well, last week Commissioner of Police Allen Whylie told the media that a police officer is the one responsible for that excluded lab test. Today, ACP Edward Broaster said that an investigation is still ongoing and that they have fulfilled certain directives from the D.P.P.

ACP Edward Broaster, Regional Commander, Rural Eastern Division

“The status of the Pakeman file as it is, the Director of Public Prosecutions had given us certain instructions to carry out and we are in the process of completing those instructions and we will return back the file to the D.P.P.”

“Do we know at this time who contaminated the blood alcohol sample of the deceased, or the blood sample of the deceased?”

“That investigation is being carried out by the Professional Standards Branch in the person of ACP Keith Lino, as well as the Ministry of, would be Home Affairs at this time, in to who tampered with those samples. So, I am not privy to any outcome or any information into where the status of that investigation is at that time.”

Reporter

“Is that the same person who did not return the cocaine test sample as scheduled? The certificate?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“No. That is two separate thing.”

Reporter

Ok. But is that also a case of apparent lack of professionalism in carrying out their duties?

ACP Edward Broaster

“Well, that was neglect of duties, not lack of professionalism. It was really a neglect not to get the copy of the certificate to the D.P.P.”

Reporter

“Willful neglect?”

ACP Edward Broaster

“Yeah.”
