Hit and Run Claims Life on Police Street

Eastern Division South Police are also asking the assistance from the public in locating the a blue Toyota Rav Four and its driver following a fatal hit and run on Police Street on Saturday night. Gerald Bahadur was walking home when he was hit by the SUV whose driver never stopped to render assistance. But it was all caught on surveillance video and police needs your help. ACP Chester Williams explains.

“The hit and run took place on Saturday night on Police Street. Police were called to an area on Police Street where on arrival they saw a male person who appeared to have been lifeless. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police investigation on that matter continues. We have viewed several cameras in that area and we are trying to locate a dark blue Toyota Rav Four. The headlight is broken because debris from the headlight was found on the scene. So if anyone knows of a dark blue Toyota Rav Four, we are asking if they can call the police so that we can check to see if that is the vehicle that was involved in the hit and run accident.”
