NEMO Will Help Trio Arson Victims, Minister Promises
Since Monday night we’ve been telling you about the arson that destroyed five properties in Trio Village. The affected residents were trying to get a meeting with Government representatives on Tuesday but they were not successful. Seven families have suffered great loss and have reported that they are waiting for the National Emergency Management Organization to go to the village to make assessments. NEMO Minister Edmond Castro was asked earlier today about government’s response to the incident. While he admitted to not knowing much details about the arson, Castro says NEMO is on top of it.
Edmond Castro, NEMO Minister
“I am not aware of the details of what you are talking about in Trio Village. What I do know is that we do have our standard packages to take care of people in need. So, I am definitely sure that the Department of NEMO has been out there and will continue to assist those families in need.”

“Sir, are you able to share with us, had you been briefed before this and will this be something that you will take a look into if you haven’t?”
Edmond Castro
“Definitely. I will get that information then I could talk more on it; in terms of what was done for them.”
