Attempted Murder Charge Upgraded for Raheem Marsden
Raheem Marsden, who has been serving time for an attempted murder charge since July of this year, just saw his charge upgraded to murder. Today, twenty four year old Marsden appeared unrepresented in court to before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith. Marsden’s PI was set for January 2017. He was first arraigned on three indictable offenses of attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm back in July. At that time, no plea was taken and due to the nature of the offenses bail was denied and he was remanded. Since Castillo’s death, Marsden’s file was forwarded to the D.P.P.’s office and based on her directives; the charge was upgraded to murder. The charge is in connection with the stabbing of Alfonzo Castillo which happened in July of this year. Castillo died a week later on July twenty-eighth, while he was receiving treatment for his injuries. Castillo was stabbed twice during an argument with Marsden.
