New Year’s Wishes from Canon Leroy Flowers

Leroy Flowers

As we bid farewell to 2016 and reflect on all the trials and triumphs over the past twelve months, we look forward to a fruitful year.  With God as the anchor in our lives anything is possible.  Tonight, we end our final newscast for the year with a thoughtful message from Canon Leroy Flowers on what can be done on a personal and spiritual level to improve our lives in the days ahead.

Canon Leroy Flowers

“Let me take this opportunity to wish all who are within hearing distance of this broadcast and the television program a very blessed and prosperous 2017.  I would rather like to leave a very short message, what I call Wake Up, Dress Up and Strive with the promises of God.  Waking up from the horrors that we are facing every day, the bitterness, the greed, the strife and get out of that and then dress up.  Make certain of who you are be proud of who you are.  You and I have got to take advantage of the opportunities, we’ve got to create the opportunities in order to fulfill the life that God calls us to live.  And then remember, His promise is that He will always be with us which means that in the midst of all the uncertainty of the New Year and all that will befall us, the storms of life.  If we dress up, if we wake up I am convinced that we will have a very blessed and fruitful and wonderful 2017.  God’s richest blessings to all.”

“What would you say to Belizeans primarily who are planning on turning over a new leaf by way of resolution in 2017?”

Canon Leroy Flowers

“Well, I know I hear this thing about resolutions and I am not too sure that by the fifth we remember what those resolutions are.  I believe that we’ve got to take stock of our lives.  I believe that in this Christmas Season if we apply the three fundamental things which is forgiveness, which is comfort and which is love.  I am persuaded that if we apply them regardless of what may assail us, we will be able to make a good year of a challenging year that lies before us.”
