Canadian Muslim Leader Disowns Islamic “Terrorists”

Lal Khan Malik

According to Lal Khan Malik, who is visiting from Canada, the teachings of the Holy Book of Islam, speaks to the idea of peace and harmony.  Any radical departure from those teachings often results in harsh punishment and condemnation.

Lal Khan Malik, President, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Canada

“Are these terrorists who claim to be Muslims, are they getting this inspiration from the teachings of Islam.  We have to look at the teaching.  When you look at the teaching of Islam, you would be surprised to find out how much emphasis does the Holy Qur’an, the Holy Book of Islam, lay on maintenance of peace in the society and anyone who takes the law into his or her own hands, how severely he or she is punished and condemned.  In Islam, it is important that every Muslim obeys God, every Muslim obeys the Prophet and every Muslim obeys the law of the land and all three are mentioned in the same sentence.  So if a Muslim engages himself or herself in terrorism, he or she is no longer a Muslim.  He or she is declaring by her actions or his actions that he has nothing to do with Islam.  So it could be an excellent opportunity for all members of the society in Belize City to find out for themselves what is the teaching of Islam and is the teaching of Islam responsible for such radicalization.”

Later in the newscast we’ll tell you about the third annual Muslim Convention in Belize City.
