Man arrested for abetting Georgeville murder
They may still be looking for the killer, but Cayo police today announced the arrest of a man for abetment in an independence eve murder. Fifty-five year old Armino Figueroa has been charged in San Ignacio for his alleged involvement in the fatal stabbing of Guatemalan Mario Antonio Hernandez during a holiday drinking session on the night of September twentieth in the village of Georgeville. The man who actually killed Hernandez is believed to have fled across the border to the town of Melchor de Mencos in Guatemala. Belize police are attempting to enlist the help of Guatemalan police in his capture.
