Police Seek Prison Escapee in Belmopan

Belmopan police are reporting the apparent escape of a prisoner from the Central Prison at Hattieville sometime over the weekend. The escapee has been identified as one Jonathan Trigeros Galan. The twenty-seven-year old Salvadoran national was incarcerated for a drug trafficking conviction. Senior Superintendent Howell Gillett, in a communication with the media, indicated that he may be in the Belmopan area, but offered no further details as to his status. Prison authorities were unavailable for comment.
