2004 holiday schedule released
It may seem a bit early, but those viewers planning vacations or special events next year may be interested in the recently published official list of public and bank holidays. January first falls on a Thursday, which means that revellers will have only a day to get rid of their hangovers. Baron Bliss Day on Monday March eighth makes for a long weekend, while the even longer Easter weekend runs from April ninth through twelfth. Labour Day will be celebrated on Saturday May first, while on May twenty-fourth, Commonwealth Day makes up for the shortage with another extended weekend. St. George’s Caye Day on September tenth, falling on a Friday, has the same effect, while Independence Day on the twenty-first is all alone on a Tuesday. Pan American Day provides another three-day weekend on October eleventh, while Garifuna Settlement Day on Friday the nineteenth does the same. It’s balanced out by a shorter Christmas holiday, however, as the big day falls on a Saturday, with Boxing Day being celebrated on the Monday.
