Ernest Hinds sought for Leal murder

While police are still looking for suspects in Belmopan, there has been a development in the murder case of Inez Leal, a well-known Belize City businessman. Police told News 5 this evening that they have detained one man and are looking for another: Ernest Hinds. The twenty-year-old Hinds, also known as “Scurvy”, was released from prison in June after serving five years for burglary. He had originally been sentenced to seven years. Police say Hinds’ last known address was on Iguana Street. Leal, the proprietor of Blankie’s Store on Pickstock Street was gunned down on September twenty-third while he was alone in his shop.
