News 5 reporter wins PAHO awards
We will try to modestly report on this next item, but it is with great pride that we announce that News 5 reporter Jacqueline Woods has been named the winner of two prestigious prizes in this year’s Pan American Health Organization Media Awards. The story on “Children and Crime”, produced by Woods, presented by Kayla Arnold and shot and edited by Brent Toombs won both the UNICEF and U.N.D.P. special awards from amongst entries submitted from all over the Caribbean. Woods will travel to Barbados in November to accept the honour at a formal ceremony. The last News 5 reporter to win a PAHO award was David Reid, who took the top regional prize in 1995 and 96.
