Grenade, Non-Lethal, Picked Up Over Holiday Weekend

Sometime between Friday night and Saturday over the holiday weekend, Belize City police reportedly discovered a grenade on Fern Lane in the Saint Martin De Porres area. The grenade has been identified as a nonlethal British-type Practice Grenade. We understand that no one was in the area and so it was labelled as found property. This is the third grenade found on South Side Belize City in 2017. The first two, both American fragmentation grenades were found within twelve days of each other. The first was recovered from an area near the Cumberbatch Field at the intersections of Fabers and Caesar Ridge roads on January third, while the second was removed from the area of Lake Independence Boulevard.
