2 Charged for Corozal Robbery/Kidnapping
Two of the four men alleged to be involved in the kidnapping and robbery of three young men in Corozal last week were arraigned on Monday in the Corozal Magistrate’s Court. They are twenty-three year-old Jason Espinoza and forty-two-year-old Elio Lopez for three counts of kidnapping and three counts of robbery. On May third in Ranchito, Corozal, Eder Hall, Eliazar Hall and Emir Rosado of Corozal were trying to purchase a vehicle from Jeffrey Gongora and Brian Espinoza, who both remain at large. The sale went bad when they were suddenly ambushed by the purchasers at an abandoned lagoon road. The suspects stole the buyers’ own vehicle and thirteen thousand dollars in cash and jewelry, about half of which was recovered. Bail was denied and no plea was taken as the offences are indictable. The pair were remanded until August eighth.
